Beginner Quilt

This Beginning Quilting class will teach you the essentials of making a quilt. You will learn best practices in cutting, piecing, pressing, and assembling your quilt. You will learn the vocabulary of quilting and become a block detective. You will create at least twelve 12" finished blocks containing the component pieces of both traditional and modern blocks. You will be ready to assemble these blocks into a 48" x 61" sampler quilt with sashing, cornerstones, and a border.

Gored Skirt

Hand Sewing 101

In the hand sewing class, we start with learning how to use a thimble, threading the needle, and a couple of ways to tie a knot. Then you master essential hand sewing stitches that are used extensively in garment sewing. Based on time, we will also cover some additional couture hand stitches.
