Okay, we've done Raglan Top, Leggings, Knit Top... What's next in serger classes? How about wide leg yoga pants! Slightly flowy legs, slash pockets, a separate waistband, grommets for a drawstring. Not too tight, comfortable...The perfect pair of secret pajamas. Also, the perfect place to perfect making pockets on knits, attaching separate elastic casings, and incorporating set-in metal eyelets (think corsets). Darn it! There we go again - slipping in increasingly advanced serger techniques into something fun and wildly wearable. Shame on us... right?

The perfect launch pad for novices. Learn how to use your sewing machine and even make your first project in this fast-paced, fun two-day class. Day One: Get started with a complete tour of the machine, how to thread it, as well as sewing your first stitches. Learn about the tools required for a basic sewing kit as well as get an overview of materials. Get help choosing your project fabric. Day Two: Take your new knowledge and make a great market or tote bag, in your own fabric, in your own style, to use over and over again. Leave class not only braver, but with something snappy as proof of your budding skills.

Ah yes, the zipper. So easy to use, yet so scary to many. Come banish your fears (or frustrations) with a user-friendly class on the most common types of zippers and zipper insertions. We'll go through the steps of the top three zipper insertion techniques?the centered zipper, the invisible or concealed zipper, and a mock fly. And then, of course, we?ll actually sew them. Leave not only with a firm understanding of this classic trio, but with the necessary skills and confidence to happily take on all variants. Go from beware?zippers, to ?zippers beware!?

Overcome any confusions or hesitations with our clear, friendly introduction to your very own machine. Just bring it in?and get going using it! This classic knit top is a timeless item for your closet, on its own or layered. And oh - did we mention it?s also the perfect project to keep building on your skills from all the previous serger classes? Learn to stabilize seams and insert the dreaded set-in sleeve with those convex and concave curves. We even cover the maths of adjusting the original neckline while keeping the band in hand. We get serious here but come for the ?gosh I?m getting good? fun of it. It?ll be our little secret. For this class, choose the crew or scoop neckline. (We?ll tackle the V-neckline in another class.)
