Day One: Get started with a complete tour of the machine, how to thread it, as well as sewing your first stitches. This Beginning Quilting class will teach you the essentials of making a quilt. You will learn best practices in cutting, piecing, pressing, and assembling your quilt. You will learn the vocabulary of quilting and become a block detective. You will create at least twelve 12" finished blocks containing the component pieces of both traditional and modern blocks. You will be ready to assemble these blocks into a 48" x 61" sampler quilt with sashing, cornerstones, and a border.
