Beginner Quilt

This Beginning Quilting class will teach you the essentials of making a quilt. You will learn best practices in cutting, piecing, pressing, and assembling your quilt. You will learn the vocabulary of quilting and become a block detective. You will create at least twelve 12" finished blocks containing the component pieces of both traditional and modern blocks. You will be ready to assemble these blocks into a 48" x 61" sampler quilt with sashing, cornerstones, and a border.

Hand Sewing 101

In the hand sewing class, we start with learning how to use a thimble, threading the needle, and a couple of ways to tie a knot. Then you master essential hand sewing stitches that are used extensively in garment sewing. Based on time, we will also cover some additional couture hand stitches. Be sure to bring your imagination!
