Learn to Sew: Kids

Perfect for young makers ages 8–16, this fun beginner sewing class is a great way to learn the basics of sewing while creating a stylish tote bag to take home! Students will learn how to sew straight seams, pin and cut fabric, and assemble their very own reusable tote.

Students must know how to thread machine but no other sewing experience is needed — we’ll guide students step-by-step in a relaxed and encouraging environment. Along the way, kids will build confidence, creativity, and new sewing skills while having fun with fabric and color choices.

By the end of class, each student will leave with a finished tote bag they’ll be proud to show off and the confidence to keep sewing at home.

Instructor: Caroline
Instructor Bio: I started seriously sewing in my early to mid-twenties, starting first with some basics. Over time I got more serious and took garment making classes and quilting classes. Through many trial and errors, I can now successfully sew my own wardrobe and create useful items for the home. I have two kids, a tween and teen, a very quirky dog, a playful cat and two chickens!
