Seams & Seam Finishes

Steve Jobs pushed his team “to make the insides of our computers as beautiful as the outsides—even if no one sees them.” A great philosophy. So, are your seams seemly? Your sutures solid? Not sure? Then come join us as we dive into all those public junctures and private finishes that ultimately anchor and perfect our garments. In this techniques class, learn ways to sew smooth seams in woven and knit fabrics, create ready-to-wear flat-fell seams, even tackle the tricky French seam on dodgy fabrics. Maybe even go to “Hong Kong.” Come spy some secret sewing skills… even if they’re For Your Eyes Only.
