Introduction to Foundation Paper Piecing the Judy Niemeyer way

Foundation paper piecing is the technique used to assemble this table topper. It involves stitchinf fabric pieces to a marked foundation paper.  The resulting pieced unit is a mirror image of the foundation paper because stitching is done with the marked side of the paper facing up and the fabric pieces layered underneath.

Designer Judy Niemeyer has developed several time-saving hacks for foundation paper piecing, including using template layout sheets to cut pieces from stacked fabrics and stacking foundation-pieced units for chain piecing.

You’ll learn to feel a total sense of achievement in the fine points and curves that you will learn with these easy to follow instructions, and feel confident in moving ahead in mastering a more complex and beautiful quilt project.  At Quiltworx.com you will finds hundreds of designs, and JudyQ will be offering many more options here at Aloha Sewing & Vacuum Center for you to join in with.
